Catastrophic
SOLO EXHIBITION BY:
MIGUEL PAULO BORJA
SHARE ON SOCIAL MEDIA:
In his 8th solo exhibition Catastropic Paradise, Borja plays with the notion of the bipolar nature of living in the Philippines. For others it is a living and breathing paradise, and on another level, a cesspool of greed and corruption. Borja plays with this duality on canvas as he paints with both color and grotesque re-imaginations.
Hints of chimeral anatomy offer a suggestion of configuration, coupled with his gestural stroke work, his canvas becomes a battleground for both attention and dominance, becoming his most experimental series of works to date.
