It was in 2009 when Klaris debuted the Off White Lady – a one of a kind 6-inch resin art collectible that is mainly influenced by the fIlipino folklore, White Lady. This soon captured the attention of every sneakerhead and hypebeast in the toy collection scene in the Philippines. Over two years after its release, and having different series of the Off White Ladies in various art galleries and toy conventions, Klaris finally reveals her full identity- her name is Maria.
Klaris’ first solo exhibit presents Maria, featuring the fragments of her Off White Lady’s colorways that were released from 2019 to 2021, in special 1-foot sized figures. Also in the spotlight is Klaris’ limited edition 9-inch neon art figures – a first of its kind under the Maria series.
As an artist who is into the modern, edgy yet off-beat and contemporary pieces, Klaris looks forward to releasing more characters and versions of Maria that will complete the Maria Universe.
