A tiny blot on a surface, a speck,feck or speckle. An embodiment of an amalgam of essences. Ranging from causality and totality, balance, existence, steadfast conviction and existence to name a few. A dot may simply be considered a tiny mark but everything starts off with it, the beginning of a line that may extend to infinity forming different shapes, on the other a punctuation that implies conclusiveness. Just a tiny mark, yet overpowers a blank slate and has the authority to terminate a cannonade of characters. Investigating deeper, following the notion of self-similarity, these dots comprise of likewise circular imprints. The transfiguration of a dot into a distinct shape of a circle negotiates to a new assortment of meanings. In this contemporary age and time, semiotics play a part in terms of images and how people associate meanings to these images. An example of which is a dot as a mark, a mark associated with distinction,identity and individuality; a profile.


“Imprinted spheres” explore the idea of distinct characters associated with each of the partici-
pating artists. Showcasing imprinted identities of varying profles unique to each other exemplifying the idea of particularity and the self. An array of individual profles with self-similar characteristics to a dot. A dot that creates a mark, a mark associated with distinction,identity and individuality; imprinted spheres.
