Artists are born with the innate nature of sensitivity and awareness. Whether it may be about actualities or manifestations of ideations of creativity, an onlooker exists as both the viewer and the viewed. As curators of elements that analyze, reimagine, and interpret, creatives tap into certain channels of creativity; an influence, or a source.
Elements from these sources are often filtered through the subjective gazes of the artists and translated into representations of created dimensions. More often, these works were collaborations from experiences and observations.
“Unraveling Body Colonies” showcases works by Edopop and M.A. Roziq which explore visual representations of each artist’s perceptions mediated by idiosyncrasies and their distinctive environments.
From nature’s grandeur and the sublime to social, political, and power structures of human dependency and intimacy, the artists’ works unravel the duality of dimensions; the ideal existence and the reality, one of which is an imagined world of stark contrast between dystopia and utopia.
Through the artists’ imaginative faculty, the works serve as reflections of an observed existence delineating boundaries between idealization and reality. Polar opposites that can never meet.
