Gabriel “Diko” Tiongson
“Diko Alam” is a response to the sensory overload that Diko has encountered over the past few years. The world around him has become saturated with repetitive stimuli, overly sweet tastes, and a monotonous tone—an environment that is dull, processed, and engineered for rapid consumption. When all of these elements are compressed into a confined space, they form a hollow, glittering mass that offers little nourishment despite its outward appeal.

Diko inhabits this very space. He has experienced it, absorbed it, and been shaped by it. Now, he seeks to dismantle it. Armed with the very tools of this environment, he purposefully introduces errors, bitterness, asymmetry, and ugliness into his work. This act of disruption reflects his personal journey, a move beyond the façade of “nothing is wrong with me.” Diko embraces the imperfections, revealing the complexities and rawness of his life, presenting the grime and the struggle that accompany it. In this tension, he finds both depth and beauty.
